Since 2019, the updated EN 71 (European standard for toy safety) has applied to all toys, including pacifier chain material and pacifier chain accessories, that come into direct contact with children.
This means that the colors must be non-toxic, sweat- and saliva-proof and the wooden and silicone beads used must be free of solvents and heavy metals. Although there are various pacifier chains available in drugstores and baby equipment stores that certainly fulfill their purpose, these mass-produced products lack quality, charm and personality.
